Twin Hollow Campground
Twin Hollow Campground in Mingo County, West Virginia, is an OHV resort established in 2002 with a single strategic advantage over most HMT-area accommodations: direct ride-in, ride-out access to three Hatfield-McCoy Trail systems (Rockhouse (115 miles), Devil Anse, and Buffalo Mountain (95 miles)), for a combined network exceeding 350 miles from the property boundary without loading a trailer. The campground sits at the convergence point of these three systems in the heart of WV coal country, which makes it the most efficient basecamp for riders who want to cover maximum HMT mileage across multiple days. The property has been built up over two decades of operation to a full resort footprint: 11 mountaintop cabins, 43 full-hookup RV sites accommodating rigs of most sizes, 20 primitive tent sites, on-site side-by-side rentals for guests who didn't bring their own machines, a powersports parts and accessories shop, a restaurant, a shower house, and a fishing pond for non-riding downtime. Note that a separate HMT annual trail permit is required for all riders accessing the HMT system ($26.50 for WV residents, $65 for non-residents), in addition to any campground fees. The resort's position in Mingo County places it within the original Hatfield-McCoy feud territory, adding genuine local history to the riding experience.
